Insights on Trends,
Issues, Strategies, and Opportunities in Land Investment and
Development Challenges
While land transactions in the GTA in
2007 were in excess of $4.7 billion, the uncertainty about
future prices and availability continue. The demand for land in
the GTA and the Greater Golden Horseshoe continues to exceed the
supply adding to the upward pressure on its value.
Notwithstanding this situation and the challenges of the
municipal approval process, the rising costs of construction and
tightening of sources of capital in a subprime environment,
interest and activity in office, retail, industrial, and
residential development continue unabated.
The 4th annual Land & Development
Conference will provide valuable insights into development
challenges, strategies and opportunities, the rising value of
land and where this asset class is heading from the perspective
of owners, developers, investors, and lenders.
Last year’s event
was sold out with an attendance of 550.
The conference will focus on many of
the challenges and opportunities in today’s investment real
estate market and environment for developers, buyers, and
investors of land.
This special event has been organized
by York Communications/MMPI Canada, the producers of the Real Estate
Forums, in conjunction with a steering committee of developers,
owners, lenders, brokers, and their intermediaries.
In keeping with the strong reputation of
the forums, The Land & Development Conference will present
high-quality speakers on very topical issues at a relatively low
registration fee. Opportunities for networking will
also be available throughout the conference.
We hope that you will
take advantage of this informative event.
