Over the past few years, rental apartment buildings in Quebec have attracted very strong investor interest, especially from private buyers, foreign investors and publicly traded real estate entities.

In light of this trend, the Montreal Apartment Investment Conference was successfully launched by CB Richard Ellis in February 2003 as an annual one day forum which focused on this market. In 2005, a decision was made to offer an expanded conference program to: 

• cover a broader range of issues and topics of interest to owners, investors, and lenders
• focus on Montreal and other markets including Quebec City, Sherbrooke,
  Trois-Riviėres, and Gatineau
• attract investors, lenders, and developers from outside Quebec

In 2008, this highly-focused, one-day conference will examine major trends, issues, opportunities, and strategies in multi-unit residential markets across Quebec. The program will provide valuable insights into current market conditions and strategies that will assist owners of apartments in increasing the value in their portfolio.

The program will also address how the multi-unit residential business is performing from the perspective of owners, developers, investors, and lenders and will address the future outlook for this sector. Due to the very strong interest in the multi-unit residential sector from private buyers, pension funds and institutions, foreign investors, and publicly traded real estate entities, more than 450 executives are expected to attend this year’s event.

The Quebec Apartment Investment Conference is organized by York Communications (a company of MMPI), the producers of the Real Estate Forums, in conjunction with a steering committee of apartment owners, lenders, brokers, and valuators.
