Canadian REITs and REOCs: Stronger Than You Think!

According to a recent study by DBRS, most Canadian REITs and REOCs are well capitalized, have balanced debt maturity profiles, and generally have high quality assets which are easier to refinance.

That’s part of the insightful story that RealREIT 2009 will examine. Our 6th annual conference will continue to focus on the most compelling trends, issues, challenges and opportunities associated with securitized real estate in Canada.

Where are we now in the cycle? What are the challenges and opportunities for growth for this asset class? What are they doing in a down market? How are they moving forward? Who are the buyers of securitized real estate at this time? What are the major lessons that have been learned so far from the credit crisis?

Global real estate executives will also address the conference providing a comparative view on how markets and public companies are performing in the United States, Australia, Asia, United Kingdom and the remainder of Europe.
Over 400 executives attended RealREIT 2008. Building upon last year’s experience and feedback, the program for 2009 will provide valuable insights into one of Canada's most significant real estate market sectors, and where it is heading from the perspectives of senior executives, investors, and lenders from across Canada and around the world.

The program has been organized by the Real Property Association of Canada and MMPI Canada (the producers of the Real Estate Forums) in collaboration with RBC Capital Markets Real Estate Group, the principal sponsor of the event.

In keeping with the strong reputation of the forums, RealREIT 2009 will present high-quality speakers on very topical issues at a relatively low registration fee. Opportunities for networking will also be available throughout the conference.

We hope you will take advantage of this very informative event.
