Founded in 1840, La Maison Simons opened a store in 1870 in what is now Old Québec City. In 1961, the retailer expanded into Place Ste-Foy, a new shopping centre in the suburbs of Québec City. Over the years, Simons has continued to grow, opening additional stores in Québec City, as well as in Montréal, Laval, Saint-Bruno and Sherbrooke.
