INFORMA DOES NOT WORK WITH OUTSIDE COMPANIES FOR ATTENDEE HOTEL ROOMS
Informa Exhibitions is aware that unauthorized housing companies (called hotel “poachers”) every year contact registered attendees offering cheaper rates at hotels in Informa’s Vancouver Real Estate Forum hotel block. The poacher rates are usually quoted in US$ and initially appear less expensive.
Often when the attendee arrives at the hotel – the hotel is already sold out and has no record of the reservation.
This practice, also known as “room pirating” is a scam that all attendees and exhibitors should be aware of in order to avoid passing along personal and financial information. Hotel poachers will claim to be an Informa, Vancouver Real Estate Forum “partner” or the “official housing company” and will ask that your room be paid in full in advance of the convention. We work directly with the hotels for the Vancouver Real Estate Forum and reservations can be made directly with the hotels via the respective websites. Beware of and report any unauthorized solicitations to Katherine Radziszewski via email.
Should you require a change in your hotel reservation, please contact the respective hotel directly and they will be able to assist you.
Please note individual hotel cancellation policy when you are making your reservation.
